What to expect

Exceptional care in a warm, supportive environment

It’s quite likely the first time you’ll be visiting a gynaecologist or gynaecological oncologist, and you’re wondering what to expect. You may feel anxious and have lots of questions.

We’d like to reassure you that you’re in good hands. Dr Vivek Arora will take the time to understand your personal circumstances and talk to you in a language you can understand while explaining the treatment options, and the risks and benefits of each treatment option.

We’re a LGBTIQA+ friendly practice.

Your first appointment

Talking to a medical specialist can be intimidating especially when the discussion includes a lot of medical jargon and words you simply don’t understand. Dr Vivek Arora has been caring for women for more than 20 years and understands the importance of clear and transparent communication.

His approach is to:

  • Keep things simple
  • Explain your condition and any treatment options in relatable terms
  • Give you the time to reflect on the discussion before making any decisions
  • Provide a copy of all correspondence from your appointment to supplement the discussions in the clinic
  • Give you plenty of opportunity to address any concerns

Preparing for surgery

The lead-up to surgery can be stressful and fill you with feelings of uncertainty. Dr Vivek Arora has been caring for women for 20+ years and has answered countless questions regarding surgery. It’s perfectly normal to have lots of questions, and it’s important to have them addressed.

Whether you’re worried about hospital admission time, hospital admission forms or medications, no question is too big or small.

Care after surgery

Recovering from an operation will take some time and it’s important to take care of yourself during this period. It’s essential to know what to do when you’re ready to go home after you’ve had your surgery.

We make sure exceptional care continues after you’ve had your surgery because we want you to feel supported and cared for throughout your entire treatment journey.

Fees

Transparency regarding fees is important because no one likes surprises. Consulting and surgical fees can be confusing, so we’ve taken the time to explain them in greater detail.

You may have questions about Medicare rebates, out of pocket expenses and private health insurance. Please visit our Fees page or check out our FAQs to find out more about anticipated cost.
